This super quick parmesan crusted chicken is so easy and delicious! I’m always in need of a quick and easy weeknight meal recipe, and cooking from scratch can be hard with limited time. And, as a bonus, this recipe is healthy and features nutritious ingredients like spelt flour. The parmesan is salty and the crispy golden brown sides add great flavor. This is a go to weeknight meal for us and I love to serve it with pasta or potatoes as a side.

The chicken is crispy and golden by the time it’s finished and gives off that fried chicken texture that we all love. Using Parmigiano Reggiano instead a regular parmesan cheese also gives it an extra luxurious flavor. You can even find it on Amazon! (Linked HERE)

Pan-Fried Parmesan Crusted Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. chicken tenders
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. whole milk
  • 1/2 c. spelt flour (or any flour of choice)
  • 1/2 c. grated parmesan
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • butter for frying (approx. 3 Tbsp.)

Directions

  1. First, mix together the egg and milk in a bowl. In another bowl mix together the flour, parmesan, and salt.
  2. Preheat a cast iron skillet to a medium high heat.
  3. Bread the chicken by dipping it in the egg mixture and then coating it in the flour mixture.
  4. Add butter to the hot skillet and adjust the heat if necessary. Add the coated chicken to the skillet and fry on one side until golden brown. Flip over and finish until cooked through and golden on the second side.
  5. Serve with any side and enjoy!

My favorite way to serve this crispy parmesan chicken is with spaghetti pasta that has been tossed in marinara sauce. It’s so delicious and is a quick and simpler take on chicken parmesan. I hope you’ll try it yourself this next week! It’s such a quick and easy weeknight meal.
